Tour has officially started! Over the last two days, my team has traveled from Creede to Blanca to Mosca, to Monte Vista and back again!
Let's talk about Blanca, Colorado. Named for the Blanca Peak, the fourth highest summit in the Rocky Mountains. After a hazy morning, we were able to view this stunning mountain. I've never seen anything like it in my life. After a successful show, we had a home stay. Luckily, our host was a farmer and cooked us fresh vegetables for dinner. We ended our evening relaxing in the local hot springs.
Yesterday was our first two show day. Loading in and out of schools can be exhausting, and to our surprise, when we got to our first school in Mosca, a class of middle schoolers helped us load in our set. They were using our show to help their class write their own children's show. So not only is our show impacting young children, but older kids as well.
From Mosca, we made our way to Monte Vista, which stands for "mountain view," located in the San Luis Valley. Fun Fact: Miller Coors gets its barley from the farms located in this active town. Between performing in a church for 25 kids, then performing at an elementary school for 500, we had an incredible time! These children just want to give Rosey Kate so much love. It's incredible to see these children reach out, hug, and say I love you after only seeing you onstage for 55 minutes. I am so blessed to have visited this amazing town. And by the way, the Mexican food in Monte Vista is incredible (-:
Overall this first week has been crazy, but incredibly rewarding. Tomorrow, I have to wake up at 4:00am in order to reach La Jara, Colorado by 7:00am. Wish us luck on this early morning adventure.
