Here I am, checking in from Creede, Colorado. We are hitting our third week of rehearsals of Creede Repertory's Theatre's Young Audience Outreach Tour's, "Seeds of Change." I arrived on Sunday July, 29th in Denver then made the stunning five hour car ride to Creede, Colorado. I have never seen so many mountains in my entire life. Once we arrived in Creede, we settled in our beautiful Rio Grande housing, 9,000 feet above sea level. Altitude sickness hit pretty hard. I was unable to sleep for the first few days, but once I started taking vitamin supplements, drinking more water, and eating more then I thought was possible, I slowly started to feel better. We started our first week of rehearsals with a read through for the creative team. The rehearsal process has been one of hardest in my life but I am on cloud nine! I can't even believe this is my life!
The other night, me and some of my tour mates, took the car to the top of the bachelor loop, a famous trail in Creede, and looked at the stars. You could see the Milky Way with such clarity. In New York City you don't get to be close with nature like this. In New York, everything can seem inauthentic, but in Creede, it's the real deal. It's you and nature and nothing else. As an actress, it makes you face some of your baggage in a way you've never been able to before. I am excited to continue to living in the moment and grow as an artist and a human, over these next couple months.
