Lyndsi Skewes is a graduate from Marymount Manhattan College's musical theatre program in New York City as spring of 2016.
Growing up near the farms of Connecticut, this go-getter has had a passion for performing and diving into her dreams head first. At a young age Lyndsi began imitating divas like Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, and Celine Dion and soon embarked on her dreams of becoming a pop star. Her dreams of pop stardom soon turned into dreams of inspiring people through theater. At 15, Lyndsi received her first professional experience, acting in Theatre for Young Audiences. She continued this dream job throughout high school. In her senior year she acted in her first Equity production, “The Buddy Holly Story” at The Majestic Theatre in West Springfield, MA.
She soon moved to NYC to follow her dreams at Marymount Manhattan College. During her sophomore year she was cast by Bill Russell (Side Show, Pageant) in “Elegies for Angels, Punks, and Raging Queens.” From there some her of her most favorite college performances have included “Tartuffe,” “Dracula the Musical,” and “South Pacific.” Marymount has provided countless opportunities not only in theater but in cabaret. Lyndsi's extensive cabaret training has provided her with the opportunity to perform at legendary concert venues such as 54 Below, The Duplex, Broadway Comedy Club, Don't Tell Mama, and The Metropolitan Room. Once graduating, Lyndsi hit the New York Theatre scene running, utilizing her love to children's theatre, and getting cast in Event Energizer's immersive production of “The Polar Express Live” and Creede Repertory Theater’s Young Audience Outreach Tour, “Seeds of Change.” Lyndsi's love for theatre spans past performing as she has also worked in Company Management (Berkshire Theatre Group), Stage Management, and Directing. In her free time Lyndsi enjoys knitting, making french press coffee, and cooking delicious vegetarian meals! Now graduated, she hopes to continue her dream of creating, performing, and make people happy.
